Portraits of Gentlemen

« Portraits of the gentlemen of the Hereford Chess Society » by T. Leeming.
Painting exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1818. Names of the gentlemen – who include the artist – are set out on the back of the canvas. The kings have open crowns, and the bishops are substantially larger than the knights.
