Philippine chess set

Carved light and dark wood, kings as chieftains, queens as wives, bishops as tribal elders, knights riding water buffalo, rooks as raised huts. Early to mid-20th century. King 119 mm; pawn 76 mm. This is the exact set pictured in Mackett-Beeson, page 106. Ex: Harbeson collection (purchased Dec. 9, 1960 in Manila). Condition: Very good.
